Works of art, plants and integrated spaces set the tone in an apartment

just four months, the architect Norah Carneiro (@norahcarneiro_arq) renovated this 325 m² apartment, located in Alto de Pinheiros, in São Paulo. The residents are a couple with three children, aged 31, 18, 14, who met the professional through a referral from their own family. The quintet's main desire was to have space for the artwork and the creation of a fully functional apartment for the whole family. In all, the property has four suites, an office, TV room, kitchen, laundry room, lunch room and living room.

When the apartment was handed over to the residents, a project on the same property had already been done by another professional and, after a few years, they invited Norah to renovate and carry out a new decoration.

For the professional, the main highlight of the project, made without structural interventions, is the integration of the home with dining, living room and balcony. This was also the biggest challenge of the renovation, as the room is a rectangle.

For residents, the living room is the favorite room in the house. There, the double height gives a feeling of spaciousness to the space, which can be used in many ways and is very pleasant to socialize with family or receive guests. The decoration of the apartment is modern and contemporary, and uses different and minimalist pieces, a personal taste of the residents, which guided the professional in the choices of furniture and decoration.

When the doors are opened to the balcony, all environments are integrated and become a large living space. The door allows to isolate the balcony so that each place can be used individually. In the project, plants that bring harmony were the professional's priority. Adam's rib, armadillo's tail, jabuticabeira and succulents, all natural, were the big bet to compose the landscaping of the home.
